Why I started working with Damien:
I received a referral for Damien from Dr. Frey (Circle Chiropractic). I am from Ohio, but was working in Virginia when I started to experience neck and back pain. After asking about my exercise program and learning that I didn’t have one, Dr. Frey gave me Damien’s card and suggested I see him about one.

So, not very enthusiastically, I went to the appointment. I’ll just say that for me fitness testing is difficult and not at all fun. But, Damien talked to me and kept me talking the whole time, and that helped keep my mind off of how hard it was. He has a good sense of humor, also, and that made things easier.

My work contract ended in Virginia and it came time to go home. I wasn’t ready to exercise on my own. Then Damien said he would follow me on Skype. This is absolutely perfect for my job and travel situation.

I went on another job assignment for a couple of weeks in Chicago. Being able to use Skype was very convenient.

The results I have experienced:
I am strong enough to lift my carry on luggage up into the overhead bin on the airplane, if I want to. I can put the water softener salt into the water softener. I can move many furniture items myself, without having to ask and wait for help. And, I am flexible enough to bend over and pick up my luggage when I stow it under the seat in front of me. I can reach my feet to cut my toenails. I have a lot more energy!  And, I sleep well. My neck and back are holding the chiropractic adjustments so I have no more pain.

10/23/2012, I weighed 195 lbs.  12/1/2012, I weighed 190 lbs.I stopped taking my diabetic medication on 3/1/2012. 4/6/2012, I weighed 159.8 lbs. and my Fasting Blood Sugar was 78 (normal is below 100)

And, for the record, “I hate to exercise!” is a lie. “I like to exercise!” I like the feeling of accomplishing something physically difficult. It helps balance the stress of doing emotional and thinking things that are difficult.  I like having energy to do things. I love being able to sleep soundly at night. And then, of course, those endorphins that exercise releases aren’t at all bad!

Would I do it again? Has it been worth it? YES!!!!! Absolutely! I like to hope I wouldn’t fight it all so hard and I would be a little easier to deal with, but I wouldn’t hesitate for a second!

I started working out with Damien to improve my overall health and to ease general aches and pains in my shoulders, back and right hip.  I needed a program to strengthen and maintain muscle tone.

After just a few weeks, most of the stress and tension in my shoulders, back and right hip were relieved.  Now after a year, I am very pleased with my results.  My core is stronger.  My body alignment and posture are improved.  I walk taller.  Stress is greatly reduced.  I am very pleased with my overall muscle tone.  I even have definition in my upper arm muscles!

I like the structure of having regular workouts with Damien.  The commitment keeps me on track with my workouts.  Damien is very knowledgeable about body mechanics.  He offers a great variety of exercises with clear instructions.  Sessions can be challenging which builds confidence.  He’s positive and I appreciate his personable, motivating and calm manner.

I play adult sports but doing that alone wasn’t getting me the results I wanted, so I found out about Core Motivation Fitness from my coworkers and decided to give it a shot.

I work more muscles than I would at home.  Just from attending class regularly I can tell that my muscle endurance has grown which really helps with my confidence. I have also pushed myself to eat better because I don’t want to negate all of the work I have been doing.

The expertise with having a trainer is great for reassurance and motivation. Having someone there to correct bad form, push you, and answer general questions keeps me on track. You don’t question yourself as you would working out solo.
